BBH Community Fund Grants

Brookwood Baptist Health (BBH) Community Fund Grants

Grant Recipient – HAND IN PAW
Through our grant, additional animal therapy teams were able to be trained to visit with hospital patients throughout Birmingham including BBH facilities.

Our grant helps provide for the processing and distribution of donor breast milk to NICU babies including these patients from Brookwood Baptist.

Our funds help support the Caring Clinic and provide free primary care to adult patients without access to health insurance.

Our mission is to provide charitable resources that support the improvement of health and wellness, provide social assistance for those whose circumstances have made them vulnerable to poor health, and to promote education in the communities served by Brookwood Baptist Health, in a way that furthers the healing ministry of Christ.

Brookwood Baptist Health values Baptist Health Foundation’s commitment to this mission. In addition to their annual contribution of $40 million dollars in uncompensated care provided to the communities who entrust their care to the health system, BBH is now dedicating their remaining philanthropic dollars to a donor fund managed by Baptist Health Foundation to fund non-profits whose initiatives align with this mission and provide programming aimed at improving health and wellness in our communities.

Baptist Health Foundation will consider grant applications to the BBH Community Fund from nonprofit organizations that have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Priority will be given to organizations that operate within Jefferson, Shelby, Walker and Talladega counties and serve patients of Brookwood, Princeton, Shelby, Walker and Citizens hospitals.  Through this particular BBH provided fund, we are UNABLE to accept applications for;

  • Individuals
  • Sponsorships for fundraising events
  • Organizations outside of our defined service area
  • Political organizations or candidates for public office

BHF considers general operating support as an important part of providing services and programs for those in need and may be included in your grant request, up to 20% of the grant. Multi-year grants will not be considered. Organizations may only receive one grant during the calendar year and after three consecutive years of funding, organizations must sit out one year before re-applying.
